This was quite disappointing for me. I was expecting something much more transportive from an improv session featuring one of my favorite artists (Broughton), but the pieces here feel very weak and aimless. There are some nice moments, usually led by Bourne's piano, but they dont linger long enough, while other, more boring parts go on for way too long. And the attempts at experimentation come off uninspired, like the looped guitar pick-string scratch in the first piece. Like, come on. Overall, unessential.
