Death metal that ventures from old school brutality to new school virtuosity. To be specific, Defiant Imagination dips its feet into very solid riffing and leads with vocals very similar to common acts such as Gorod. However, the album truly shines with the bass, which is an uncommon thing in metal. Instead, you can simply hear the fretless wonder literally everywhere on the album. Skip to a random part in a song and BAM, bass! Even better, the bass has a mind of its own; venturing off and playing lines that the guitarists could only dream of playing.
