Unbelievable. In the worst possible way. Never have I heard such on the nose, banal lyricism uttered with less than zero conviction. When you think of albums that tackle the themes of a break up, it can be done with tact and true, brutal honesty such as Sea Change or Vulnicura. This is just embarrassing and sonically is flooded with cheap synth arpeggios and very little in the way that made Bloc Party so thrilling in their early years - hardly any jagged riffs, propulsive drum energy, guitar and bass interplay. All gone. It?s honestly one of the worst album experiences I?ve had in a while which clearly should under the moniker of Kele?s solo projects, not a Bloc Party record.
