There is nothing that isn't truly stunning and perfect about this record. Every note, every second is true and utter catharsis; every sound that occurs is perfectly orchestrated to flawlessly illustrate complete doom--and that is something that is so emotionally close to my soul. I can't thank this amazing group enough for blessing me with this. This is perhaps the most life-changing record I've ever heard, and it is my favorite work of art of all time.

I'm very harsh when it comes to what is considered Death metal. I enjoy my fair share of new Death Metal, but this is just control crap, in my opinion, the guitars are so simplistic, and all the BR00000TAL kids out there will be kickin and punching the air in their bedrooms to this EP for a long time, thanks to all the breakdowns, that are uncreative, and have been done plenty times before.Just leave me with real death metal,and you kidoos can have your generic style, just come talk to me when you figure out what musicianship is.

this album...i remember 10 years ago when all this band had was a shitty myspace and one song...entombment of a machine...and i listened to it..and i was like...this fucking sucks. it wasnt until at least 15 listens later that i realized that...maybe just for a moment..an EP was shaping a genre. there is no doubt that JFAC, and in particular, DOOM..was the kindling for the deathcore era..and while i personally see this as death metal, this album sticks out in time as one of the best 25 minutes of metal ive ever heard. its not overly prophetic or pretentious, and the bree brees were a relatively new fad (thank god it died out), but these gentleman were definitely innovators for their time. not to mention, they were all only ~17

first off, this is a death metal album. it clearly follows the tradition of seven churches, scream bloody gore, and season of the dead. it has the same hour long breakdowns, little bitch wails, and chuggasaurus riffs, with no punk elements whatsoever. lmmmaaaaaaooooooo who am i kidding derpcore 6000 with brutal elements by talentless music-pretenders thinking over dense amp effects is the same thing as heaviness

Ironically half of JFAC fans see this album as a black eye on their discography whereas the other half sees it as their magnum opus. I would be the latter. Jonny Davy invented pig squeals on this beauty. The obvious highlight is "Entombment of a machine".

People seem to only enjoy this EP for the nostalgia factor, and that's exactly where Doom's main problem lies. In retrospect, the release was plagued with obnoxious pig squeals and, on top of that, all the songs have a tendency to sound nigh-interchangeable. "The Rising Tide" at the very least shows potential to be a good JFAC song, but the rest is cookie-cutter deathcore; nothing stands out aside from the drumming perhaps.

There isn't one thing about Doom that doesn't manage to get in your face and personal. From start to end, here is an EP that just crushes the listener into oblivion and doesn't care one single bit. Not being as big as a deathcore fan as some, this isn't something I'd visit again and again though, but 'Entombment of A Machine' is friggin sweet.

I guess this is where deathcore started. I'm not an elitist jerk (grew out of that by the time I was 16), so I can appreciate this. I love the smooth transitions from riffs to breakdowns. It doesn't seem like this band places too much emphasis on them, like deathcore does now. They just seem part of the song itself. Also the pig squeals make me happy.

A kick ass EP for JFAC, all the songs are killer and you will be craving more after the CD, ends. All the songs have parts that you will want to keep listening to over and over and this cd is really in your f*cking face!
