I can't believe I'm saying this, but this is their best album in 20 years; arguably their best work since Absolution. The year just keeps on giving.

a good muse album in 2026 is insane work

The magic of having a producer who actually clicks with the band, rock on Dan. The 3 track run of Hexagons-The Sickness-Unraveling is a new all timer. Maybe not individually but they latch together so perfectly.

2026 is so peak that even Muse, of all bands, made an excellent record!

Muse's tenth studio album leans heavily back into bombastic orchestral arrangements, sweeping synths, and heavy guitar riffs reminiscent of Black Holes and Revelations. Producer Dan Lancaster helps sharpen the band's focus and energy towards a classic space-rock form that trades cynical tech themes for a more human and grounded emotional core. This is the best and most earnest work since Drones. Tony recommends: "The Dark Forest", "Cryogen", "Nightshift Superstar", "Hexagons", "The Sickness in You & I".

I'm not sure what revitalisation everyone is hearing. This is, like their last four albums, a kid's idea of an awesome stadium-rock experience: EPIC riffs! EPIC time signature changes! EPIC strings! EPIC Matt Bellamy vocal histrionics! 'Cryogen' is pretty sweet though.

Nearly every track here feels like the best version of the themes, influences, sound design/production and unexpected musical left turns that have defined their career. A no-skip Muse album in 2026 is astonishing.
