Incredibly strong instrumental performance, ruined by hilariously bad vocals and lyrics. The musical equivalent of a painting consisting of a canvas painted blue with an orange circle on it. Leaving all the "art connoisseurs" to grasp at straws in a failing attempt to explain how profound and clever it is. It's giving TikTok Joker cosplay vibes.

not normally my bag but the vocals walk the line between dark and hilarious. the fact they piss off black metal purists who just want the same shit only makes them better

The vocals are that bad that they're almost comical. With traditional quality black metal vocals
this could easily be a 4.5 album.

Yet another example of poor vocal choice ruining a rather interesting record, which is a shame. Now we know that if David Tibet would try to go black metal this would not end up in anything good as no amount of songwriting talent and otherwise excellent musicianship could fix the vocal issue.
Speaking of "unhinged" sounding metal this is largely inferior to Morgul's "insane" classics The Horror Grandeur and Sketch Of Supposed Murderer. Speaking of "circus metal", Angizia has performed much better either.

I was a bit hesitant to touch this, never really dug bm with theatrical celtic smudging, rbut this was fun. The vocals by the guy are the best part, love the brainfart storytelling ra la Nick Cave in The Carny or nearly anything by Current 93. And the violin works as well, rprobably this is also the reason why our ears are spared from squeamish guitar solos, which rare so typical of such endeavours. Will def come back to this when I see the sun shine upon rthe fjords past midnight and the elves gather for a feist in my back garden.
