A step up from CURE, which I think is a good album. This one just has much more energy. The album flies by in a good way.

I enjoyed this way more than I thought I would after the disappointment in Cure. This is honestly half-Ghost Atlas, but I'm not even mad. It's good, chill-vibes ERRA, which happens to be my favorite ERRA. Not that I don't also love manic-riffage-ERRA too, it's just that this hit just right somehow.

Nothing groundbreaking, especially for them but I like this more than the last record. The riffs riff. Pretty standard for them. I will say though, even if they dont always click for me you can really tell that this band is full of talent and they are pros at what they do.

"Silence Outlives the Earth" is a thankfully massive step-up from "Cure", but still doesn't match the near-epoch that was ERRA's self-titled album. Where ERRA excels is their use of low guitar riffs that suddenly contrast by using the upper register in strings to create a ping-pong kind of effect that serves as their signature in songwriting. The catalog in "Cure" lacked this, but "Silence Outlives the Earth" brings it back in combination with catchy choruses with the likes of 'Black Cloud', 'Gore of Being' and 'Further Eden'. The band tries to do a 3-part closer series as well in the final 3 tracks, and it mostly does work as the group dipping their toes into some progressive kind of feels that still features their signature style throughout. It might be tough for ERRA to ever get close to their self-titled ever again; the album was written when the band had (understandable) downtime in 2020 in which there was more time to gauge what was and wasn't working. As it is though, "Silence Outlives the Earth" does come pretty close.
