An EP of rather conventional idol tracks that got released to thematically fit with the
Hololive 3rd Generation live concert that took place over two days in mid january 2026 to a
live audience of 20k a day. I often have a hard time with these types of songs because they
never grab me instrumentally, aren't usually that interesting vocally and my japanese is not
good enough yet to understand what they sing about. Such songs do tend to grow on me over
time though, which was also the case here. There's a good amount of fun melodies and
songwriting ideas and learning about some of the lyrical contents here made me appreciate
the emotional depth of this EP more, even though it still feels a bit too corporate and
unpersonal for me. Seeing these songs being performed live was a good experience but I don't
see myself coming back to this EP anytime soon now that the timely context of the concert is
behind us.
