3.5 is generous. It's more like 3.3
I respect the tiny bit of experimentation on el vacio and a thousand years. I respect that
they're still hard. But most of this album is old ground that has been walked better before
and the hooks are simply terrible for the most part, except for the title track, which is
definitely a standout. But I'd like to see some progression... what happened to Descending
and Blacken the Cursed Sun? Even 512 and Still Echoes felt like a positive direction. Since
the backlash of The Duke (which sucked because it sucked lol) they just seem resigned to
this.
