Possibly the worst rapper of all-time. Ice JJ Fish is more enjoyable.

Definitely suffers from a fair bit of bloat. While some melodic cuts are nice, there's too many and it brings the energy quite low by the end. Double albums are always risky and I don't think this one quite stuck the landing. You can definitely feel the repetition by the end. It just doesn't feel as vital as it should have.

There are great songs throughout, but while the hard-hitting songs bump for me (Two Six & WHO TF IZ U are early
highlights), two problems hold the project back: most of these songs could be 30 seconds to a minute shorter, and the
features are not used to their full potential. Disc 39 in particular draaaaaags. And I dont care what anyone says, Tems
was the only good feature on this whole thing. Shes fighting to be heard over that beat, but that lady can sing like no
one else (certainly not Cole). This was my first time listening to a J. Cole album all the way through, and if this is what
Ive been missing, then I dont think I missed much.

J. Cole is one of the most frustrating rappers imo. You can tell he has lyrical ability but his insistence on being involved in his own production, not including worthwhile features, and sticking to the same production styles really holds him back from expanding artistically. This is especially apparent on The Fall Off where I find a lot of the tracks to just not be so engaging. His music has always lacked urgency and I can't help but feel he's doubled down on that during the run time of this project. At least this is hopefully his last project
