In my opinion, this is better than their first endeavor, although not as good as their self-titled.
They still have their great electronic-esque sounds, they just execute it poorly.
Their new singer needs to step up to the plate with more emotion.

Though basically an EP comprised of a mere 3 tracks, The Sound of Symmetry should've had at least some potential to earn a sequel in the form of a studio album. The thing is is that it's not nearly as memorable as Sky Eats Airplane's debut record Everything Perfect On the Wrong Day; much of what made the latter just a tiny bit enamoring was its more Nintendo-like motif (nostalgia, motherfucker!), whereas this one EP feels disgustingly plain.

While not a masterpiece by any means, The Sound of Symmetry offers a sample of what is to come with SEA's new vocalist, and in fact it is an improvement from anything they have done before. The clean vocals are much improved with Zimmerman leading the gang and the instrumentals are as solid as ever. The full-length album should be one to watch out for.

The last track is excellent. Hearing both vocalists sing is a great way to end it. I think Elliot is a better singer then Bryan.

Consisting of just three songs, Sky Eats Airplane's new EP is simply a continuation of their self titled LP. In other words, there is a mixed bag of tunes with both math-y rhythms and chug as well as radio friendly choruses. Luckily, each song is also sprinkled with a little something special aka. melodic guitar leads and heavy electronic use. While the new singer does still sound like the old one, his overly sugar sweet clean vocals may be a turnoff to some listeners, while his screams may impress them at the same time.
