This thing came outta nowhere and threw my aoty list into disarray. Love me a good, bombastic prog album but like the review says, it?s refreshing to hear a metal band be progressive without having to shoehorn in some random wackiness. This sounds like what I wished for bands like mastodon post crack the skye, btbam post parallax, and tesseract if they were ever any good to begin with. Idk if this is a light post metal album or a heavy post rock album, and I love that.
