Instrumentally it's really cool. It has absolute blockbuster parts. However, the vocals are absolute garbage. It's insane that this has been released as a final condition. The vocals sound completely off and don't fit the instruments for the most part. The production is really poor. All together it sounds like a bunch of self-recorded demo tracks of someone who has just started producing music. Technically awful.

A great but flawed album, that unfortunately also pales in comparison to the much more cohesive and consistently excellent sounding debut. TPotM?s main issue is that for multiple reasons it at times ends up sounding kind of clunky. Whether that be because of: certain mixing choices; some of Matt?s vocal melodies not quite meshing with parts of the instrumentation as much as others; or because of aspects of the tracklist as a whole, such as the back to back inclusion of ?Spires? and ?Godmode? (which manage to all but kill any momentum the album was up to that point building) alongside the omission of previously released singles such as ?F.G.R.B? or ?Close The Door?.

The proggy post hc revival has been a huge let down the past couple years (The Sound of
Animals.. LS Dunes, Closure in Moscow) this definitely pierces through the muck.
