Great stuff - I loved the previous album The Oubliette so much. And this one tackles another issue - SUICIDE. Pay attention assholes. r

While achieving neither the abject depths or the soaring heights of the Oubliette, this album transmits another profound message with care and craftsmanship. The Reticent has upped its instrumental game here. Agile, syncopated riffs unfold in an energetic cascade of tension and release over an ultimately somber landscape, though moments of lightness and beauty occasionally peer through the mist, as well as outright descents into abysses of brutality. The resulting sound is utterly unique, as the Reticent continues to actualize an identity distinct from any other in the prog scene. Through all this, the Reticent succeeds once again in impregnating every moment with real emotion. Ultimately, this is another fantastic release from what I consider one of the progressive metal greats, whether they are recognized as such or not.
