| 2.0 poor | brickhed | September 22nd 25 | okay, i'm not gonna get into hyperbole. These guys are clearly competent at what they do,
which happens to be radio dad rock. When it gets bad is when they shoehorn in old video game
stuff, with varying degrees of success. Sometimes its really bad (super sonic boom),
surprisingly decent (Mighty Wings & Hadoukens), or just a really basic cover with video
games stapled to it (Nintendo Power of Love). there's a few riffs that flirt with metal that
I can get along with, and an entire section in Hearts on Fire that's actually pretty good.
But if they're gonna blow a ton of cash on a 55 minute music video done in one take it's
gotta be way better than this. They need to drop the video game bullshit and amp up their
songwriting chops. If they evolve from this they may actually go places.
