Quite bad, unfortunately. The first 3 tracks are promising but it falls off steeply after them. Somehow every song is 80bpm. It feels like a contemporary Christian album but instead of God it's about how she hates other women and just learned to swear two days ago.

Honestly? This album is not that bad, and the hate for it seems to come from the fatigue for Taylor's music than anything else. And that's totally fair, she really hasn't stopped releasing music this whole decade. This album though? Has some bops if you're willing to look past her excessive release schedule, and nothing as obnoxious and in your face as "Shake It Off", either. Hallelujah. Instead the album is more of a chill vibe, but still vibrant and infectious. Sure, theres some corny ahh lyrics, but it's not particularly cringeworthy. All her albums have some cringe in there.

Father Figure and Actually Romantic have to be some of the most bitter, mean-spirited, vindictive songs I've ever heard. The rest is either incoherent, self-aggrandizing or completely uninteresting. Also exhausting. The whole thing is fucking exhausting. The last album was too. I'm tired.

Not a clue how she managed to write lyrics worse than Paramore's "This is Why", but damn the woman did it. Otherwise, the album ranges from "oh my god I'd rather be unclogging my toilet with my bare hands because it's more interesting than this" boring to downright ear-grating.

It sounds better on multiple listens. Good singing and the album is cohesive. Also most lyrics are good even if happier. The weakness is that it just seems underdeveloped, like Taylor held back too much. Good listen but a little disappointing.
