On Headlights, Alex G retains his usual compositional richness while slightly dialing back the restless creativity, resulting in his most confident, relaxed and personal album to date. It is bar none his most consistent work, with a beautifully sustained atmosphere of luxurious and prolonged instrumentals buffeting hooks that are more subtle this time around and a bit less overtly catchy than his recent output. rHighlights: June Guitar, Louisiana, Oranges
