I don't know what else to say about this album other than it made a fucking significant impression on me upon first listen. They sound like they had an insane amount of fun making it, and I think it shows through how playful and cohesive the entire album is. rThe back half (Mirador thru Beautifully Human) is the strongest collection of BTBAM songs in sequence that I can think of, and the title track is legitimately unexpectedly beautiful and sentimental in it's unabashed cheesiness. Absolute banger of an album.

I haven't listened this band for a while so this release came as a surprise. The whole album has a fresh sound and lots of good ideas. One of the best albums of the year for sure.

If anything I am grateful that BTBAM is still producing playful, chaotic, intense metal music in 2025. For the first time maybe ever the record feels like an amalgamation of all they have done to this point instead of going in a specific direction like they did on 'Coma Ecliptic' and 'Automata'. The fun factor is there and exemplified in tracks like 'Absent Thereafter' in a way I can't remember in recent BTBAM releases. As someone who has followed this band since 2005 I wouldn't put this in their top 5 but it is one of the stronger records to come out in recent times. One slight criticism is some of the production on the vocals and choices for vocal stylings aren't the best but in the end that is a minor thing. Hopefully can see them on the road 1-3 times this year.

After one spin, gonna give this a 3.5 and adjust later as needed. It's recent-style BTBAM on overdrive: weird, spastic, and yet compelling and high-quality. Definitely needs some time and additional plays to solidify a rating.
