As with the previous album, I am conflicted. Sabrina without a doubt has a distinctive voice, great vocal range, and she seems to be talented. Most of the songs are catchy, and there's less forgettable pieces of the album, contrary to Short n' Sweet, but the main issue with Sabrina's music is the childish lyrics. As soon as I start listening to the words she's singing, the magic breaks. While it's okay on songs like Manchild, which is actually fun, most of the songs are just filled with childish sexual jokes that are unbearable, considering she's a 25 year old not making music for 13 year olds (I hope so at least). rIt still sucks Anxiety won the grammy over Manchild, I believe Sabrina deserved it more (biased, I despise Anxiety). But if Carpenter gets her lyrical game up, we can expect a modern pop masterpiece from her in the near future.
