Like the comfort of cool summer windy day like today here in the Hudson Valley region: MM's first album in 12 years hardly misses a beat and functions as a logical progression from their self-titled. There's a comfort in the familiarity of the sound, there are vague more rocking elements that call back to Pneuma/Waves but with a leaner more song-centric focus. Welcome back gents! Looking forward to jamming this all summer simultaneously feeling nostalgic and looking forward to brighter and better new days.

a band I never expected to get a new record from that achieves exactly what I would want from them. moving mountains stays focused on their own path to undiscovered post-rock worlds.

If you liked s/t, you'll like this. I find that and this to be just the most derivative, milquetoast music, basically bereft of any characteristic other than 'pretty' -- perfect muzak for a Hallmark store or something.
