Would rate this lower if I could bring myself to
actually listen to this beyond the first couple songs. A
2 is probably generous. Good Rise Against died in 2008.
Even Appeal to Reason was a step down in quality from
the previous 3 albums. The guitar work just became
boring, and it has stayed that way for nearly 20 years.
There is no bite to Tim's voice like there was when he
was a wee lad. Whatever passion he has doesn't come
through on the recording, at least to my ears. I WILL
NOT listen to a RA album, especially when the production
sounds this bad, ever again. Tim needs to get pissed off
again, and hire a third guitarist that writes more
interesting parts, and maybe they can produce something
worth listening to.

Rules of Play and Miracle were at least half decent songs. first straight up bad rise against
closer and that's unforgivable tbh.

Damn, I didn't love this but I also didn't find it to be as bad as the rest of the site apparently does. Yeah, vocals are mixed shitty for the most part and the band has definitely lost their edge, but I didn't really find anything to be offensively terrible. Pretty run-of-the-mill, average stuff.

While maintaining the lyrical grit, the music has has lost it. Instead of a melodic punk, this albums provides a sterile, somewhat melancholy arena rock

Mid, just mid. I liked I Want It All, Black Crown, Forty Days, and Soldier. Everything else was a groaning disappointment
and aren't mosh-pit material. Sorry Rise Against, you missed the mark.
