| 4.0 excellent | Kars Landman | September 29th 25 | Focussed and sweet record. More melodic than usual, overproduction on the vocals was not
necessary however. Really picks up towards the end.

| 4.0 excellent | Toondude | September 26th 25 | Definitely a softer and more folk-ish approach to their current sound. Far from their best, but still catchy as hell and beautifully crafted.

| 4.0 excellent | Free Death #2 | September 25th 25 | THE WEASEL SLIPS INTO THE STUMP
No but really, that single is addicting with the marching chorus. This is easily the band's most entertaining album in a long time, possibly even since Skyforger. Huge melodies and just enough growls to keep the grit. Excellent.

| 3.0 good | BlackTemplarofAutism | November 24th 25 | Album definitely has some bangers, but is mostly frontloaded with them, my interest slowly waned as we wore on from the mid-point. The Circle, Fog to Fog, and The Strange absolutely wreck house though, with spectacular hooks coupled with notable bits of proggy writing. Overall the album just feels like a slightly lesser version of Queen of Time

| 3.7 great | Trey STAFF | October 10th 25 | A little bit of Tuonela a little bit of Queen of Time and a whole lot of emphasis on melody and hooks. The folk melodies are used to great effect here to create memorable and accessible hooks that augment the equally memorable and accessible choruses. There's still some death metal vocals here, but everything is so accessible that it sometimes doesn't even feel like it. It's not a bad thing, but it's definitely the modern Amorphis formula in different ratios than we're used to.

| 4.0 excellent | mystagogus | October 6th 25 | Amorphis go full pop, excel at that, and win. Perhaps their most accessible and entertaining record, exceptionally catchy, borders on 4.5.

| 3.5 great | cageofman | September 29th 25 | This album ends really strong, with 'The Lantern', 'Borderland' and 'Despair' especially the rstandout tracks. 'The Circle' is cool and reminiscent of 'The Way' and 'Tempest' is also rquite a nice tune. I still feel this band should incorporate more earthy sounds, go more racoustic, and add more dynamics to their sound, but I welcome some of the folkier and melodic relements as opposed to Halo. The singles - especially 'Light and Shadow' are songs i'm least rimpressed with, they feel somewhat standard and safe. Overall i'm pretty happy with this, its rnot as generic as I was fearing with some of the singles, those last 3 tracks elevate it. rBut I still think they need to try something different, still have some of that rquintessential Amorphis sound, but go more rustic or something, every next album more and rmore feels like there's a big risk it will just be going through the motions. I hope they rchallenge themselves next time, but maybe in this later stage of their career playing it safe ris all they really want to do?

| 3.0 good | OverSlyZed91 | September 26th 25 | It's okay. That's it. Nothing special, just a weaker version of Skyforger. Also the chorus of Dancing Shadow is really shit.

| 3.0 good | Ectier | September 26th 25 | Is this a bad album? No it isnt, its good for what it is. The problem
is what it is is more of the same from Amorphis's last two records. Its
almost stagnant and they have settled into their own special little
rut. Which is fine if you love this sound and style but for me its a
bit stagnant. Its a bit of a miss for me sadly

| 3.5 great | DarkNoctus | September 24th 25 | a sophisticated and comforting album that gives amorphis' modern sound more colour and vibrancy. their most consistent effort since 'under the red cloud'. i do think the vocals are overprocessed but otherwise i have no complaints or criticisms - a very enjoyable album that some may see as safe but it's hard to be too critical when there aren't any other bands out there that sound like amorphis.
