Supposedly Attack Attack! maxed-out 3 credit cards to up the ante on the production for the 'sequel album' to not their biggest record, but their most consistent. Enter "Attack Attack II", something that manages to actually surpass the previous album in due to monster choruses, heavy lows, and crisp mixing that never slows down its pace. Opener 'ONE HIT WONDER' feels more reminiscent of some of their recent EPs and is probably the worst song on the record, but even then it still checks out. No, it's when the listener is treated to songs like 'Chainless', 'Walk on Water', and 'Big Booty Britches' where the infectious melodies swarm your ears and most likely won't leave for days. Standing back-to-back, 'Live, Love, & Die' and 'i complain on r/metalcore' are the two best songs on the record; evoking genuine emotion on one song and goofily playing with style while maintaining a clear focus on the other. In many ways, it's surprising "Attack Attack II" is truly as good as it is, and is a real highlight of albums from 2025.
