3.0 good | mrewest | July 4th 25 | The other reviews pretty much nailed it thus far. They?ll never come close to Departure Songs again. Nothing has had the fraction of emotion that did since. And the snare drum here is as bad as St Anger wtf. It?s a fine album but nothing you haven?t heard a million times already.

4.0 excellent | Comatorium. | July 4th 25 | It?s post rock honed to a razor?s edge, nothing more nothing less. How good that will be to you depends how inclined toward the genre you are.

2.5 average | OverSlyZed91 | July 4th 25 | Very basic post rock. Almost boring. They should hire a new vocalist.

3.5 great | PortalofPerfection | July 3rd 25 | Really solid stuff, better than Triumph. Last track is too long for what it's trying to do. Great atmospherics, some sweet riffs, and a sensible progression towards finding a new version of their sound. rBut it's obvious at this point the the poor bastards can never top Departure Songs, that was lightning in a bottle and they'll forever exist in its shadow.

2.0 poor | DarkNoctus | July 3rd 25 | it's really weird how this band went from making one of the most memorable post-rock albums of the 2000s to making what would have been called stale 20 years prior to release. i don't mind the crescendocore idea when there's clear songwriting and structuring going on but it really does feel like you could just swap the sections of this album around and change virtually nothing.
