Sorry to say, Ben Duerr has got too caught up in the Lorna Shore circus instead of focusing on the fact his band was far and away the best in deathcore of the last decade. This isn?t horrendous it?s just very average from a band that has previously been at the top of the genre. Music made for vocals, not vocals made for the music. This band has showed modest progression and change of sound in a good way on each successive album since their debut. This however just feels like an attempt at riding the out of place breakdowns and brutal vocals trend. The product is a monotonous deathcore album that lacks creativity and variety found on their previous releases.

This Effin rules. People be tripping. This shreds and lots of actual well done grooves and breakdowns. I found myself not at all bored along the full run time and that?s rare for this brand of deathcore.

Caught between a 3 and a 3.5.
Want to give it a 3, but realistically it's still pretty elite, just a little disappointing.
Way too much uninspired vocal push and unnecessary breakdowns cutting short better melodic
sections. Still some good tracks and great moments though.

I am a Shadow of Intent fan and this is an unmistakably Shadow of Intent album. Ben is a monster. Their drummer is a monster. Their songwriting is monstrous. Here there be monsters.
