Reflections symbolize a growth in Apocalyptica's career, being a more mature release. The effort and seriousness that this album conveys is palpable, and is big improvement over the band's previous installment. A great feature this album has is the addition of drumms, which add a lot of musical depth to the mix. There is also more melancholic approach to most of the songs, which in my opinion is one of the most important feelings that a cello must evoke. Excellent album

More bands should play like these guys. Cello metal? That's exactly what this is, and there are few that can match these guys in pure musical skill. But the songwriting is top-notch too, and these guys aren't wankers. The compositions are terrific, being melodic yet heavy, and the occasional appearance of Dave Lombardo on some tracks just makes the whole thing a tad more exquisite. This is some really fine music, the sound of a band really starting to get into the groove, and they went on to perfect it on their next record.
