somehow woods has gotten more dense and experimental. feels like this will need a minimum of a dozen spins for a proper rating.

As usual. Oh my god.
I've listened all the way through a few times. Kids
in the car, listening too. This is therapeutic.
Perhaps the most touching record I've ever heard.
Glad my kids got to listen in for the first time
with me too. This is important. Important,
especially, in 2025.
The quiet tracks somehow hit the hardest. Woods has
actually mastered the English language.

Another difficult, dark, and abstract beast from Woods (no shit sherlock). The tracks with the barest beats are, as expected, as cold as possible to lay out the perfect soundtrack for Woods' diatribe, but it's when jazzy atours come up that I found myself really enjoying the record (especially in the second half)

billy woods, where did you come from and who are you, and what did we do to deserve you in these trying times? I will fully admit it took a while for me to get into this record but in the end it is another hard hitting experiment/abstract hip hop sound collage masterclass from billy woods. For a minute it felt like drumless and abstract hip hop was starting to become a bit repetitive or inaccessible but it seems like billy woods just keeps reeling me back into these strange, ominous and beautifully atmospheric musical experiences. A lot of standout moments including the phone ringing beats in 'STAR87' and the movie sample in that track, the supremely uncomfortable beat on 'Waterproof Mascara' and the stillness of that track, the as close to as a banger as we will get standout track 'Corinthians' and the lyrics in 'Cold Sweat'. The craziest part is tracks like 'All These Worlds Are Yours', 'Maquiladoras', "A Doll Fulla Pins' and 'Dislocated' standout even higher as truly masterful art pieces with the last two possibly being some of his best work yet. Re-listening to the last two minutes of 'A Doll Fulla Pin's and 'Dislocated' it is obvious this is one the great artists of this generation.

It's a classic and rap AOTY so far. I don't really think anyone's knocking it off unless JID drops some something crazy or Alfredo 2 is even better than the original
