Fun little record. Glad to see them injecting more aggression back into their sound.

Better than Servant, which I really enjoyed. They bounced back after the toothless Rewind,
Replay, Rebound and have put out back to back crackers. They're not everyone's cup of tea,
but they're entertaining and this was a fun listen.

If by 2025 you haven't liked Volbeat, Gods Of Angels Trust will not change your mind. Twenty years on and with 8 albums already under their belt, the Danes continue their sail to Michael Poulsen's vision of a rock 'n' roll / heavy metal hybrid powerhouse. This ninth album has one foot in the band?s metal past and one foot in their more commercial present. Ten tracks with the first half substantially superior to the second. It all starts with a startling slap on the opener 'Devils Are Awake' and as the album unfolds, Volbeat's arsenal shines brightly once again: the massive rhythms, the flashy melodies, the voluminous riffage and Poulsen's infallible, stentorian voice, are all there. The album does not feature longtime guitarist Rob Caggiano who surprisingly parted ways with the band in 2023. Not sure how costly this departure was for Poulsen and the band, but the final result made it look easy. A remarkably consistent band with little to prove and a hell of a songwriting frontman leading them. Tony recommends: "In the Barn of The Goat, "By a Monster's Hand", "Demonic Depression", "Better Be Fueled than Tamed", "At the End of the Sirens".r
