Incoherent wank garbage for pretentious hipsters. Songs are too muddled. They can still be chaotic, but they should harken back to a general theme that the songs will come back to to make the songs more memorable. They rarely even settle into a coherent syncopated groove a lot of the time. Which, yes, that's kind of djents whole thing, to be very intricately rhythmic, but this takes things to the extreme. The riffs are simply too erratic, too many notes a lot of the time, leading to an excessive tiring experience. I like post rock meets djent (thall) as much as the next guy, but man, every song is way too convoluted for their own good here.

Micro-dosed and gave this a full listen, it was an experience to say the least. It's by far my favorite work they've done.rSuperior to their last album in almost every single way, but I can see the complaints about it being a bit too "riff-salad" at times.rBut there's just no other band that really does what they do, it borders on feeling "alien".rThere's guitars rhythms and tones that I honestly have never heard created by anyone else.rWill def be in my Top 10 this year.

Their best work by far. Works very well as a record, but not very good for casual listening. It's still a bit too messy to be a classic, but the hooks and melodies are stronger and more distinct than they've ever been without losing the beautiful textures and atmosphere that frames them. If it had a few more strong tracks that stood out, it would be perfect. These guys definitely zeroed in on what works.

Actually quite interesting texturally and compositionally, it's like Meshuggah crossed with Polyphia if either of those bands made music. Or more specifically, like Vildhjarta, if they made music. Fun atmospheres and note bending that weave in and out of each other and really make the most of what "Djent" can be, with a coherent underlying rhythm to everything that ties it together nicely. Nary a sizeable riff to be seen, but also gone is the talentless chugging horseshit of yesteryear and its accompanying cluster headaches - they're actually doing something besides being a screaming infant/barking dog-level annoyance here, and I'm happy they were finally able to. Keep an open mind for this one, even if you can't stand their other work, or the work of their contemporaries, is what I'm saying here.

Less repetitive than prior releases, and not relying on tradition song structures, this album plays around with disjointed angular riffs rising and falling. The melodies are there, the hypnotic grooves are there, and the result is a very strong album

Even if every song on here sucked absolute ass, it would still be better than the last album thanks to the inclusion of den spanska känslan. I don't really feel like sucking postmanpat off, so I'm also inclined to agree this might be better than Måsstaden. 69420lmaothall or something idk.
