There's nothing fancy about the way Motorhead rocks, they just do. Ace of Spades is simply splendid in that it doesn't waste time building up nothing, like most related musicians would do, but instead builds up nothing and leaves it to incredible riffs and the vocalist's bad-ass voice to satisfying your taste for extremely rockin' music.

Ace of Spades isn't just a classic heavy metal album, it's just a great rock n' roll album. There's a few albums that truly capture the spirit of rock n' roll, the sleaziness, the dirtiness, the raw power that is rock n' roll, and Ace of Spades is one of those albums. This is just great shit for everyone. Thrashers, punks, any rock n' roll fan should get something from this.

Motorhead, love 'em or hate 'em, is THE rock group. without them rock music as we know it today would not exist. Motorhead laid the groundwork for Nirvana, Minor Threat, Metallica.....every rock group that's been big in the last 20 years owes it to Motorhead somehow. "Ace of Spades" is their greatest album, hands-down and features their greatest song, the title track. listening to this shit is like being shot in the head with a bullet from hell. its aggressive, take-no prisoners music that gets better the more you listen to it. with its pounding drums, distincitve tunes, guitarwork that ranges from bluesy to metallic, and singer/bassist Lemmy's trademark, this album is rock at its best, and nothing will ever change that. CLASSIC.

Combine 70s blues hard-rock and punk speed and attitude; what do you get? Motörhead. They used the art of simplicity to make simple, but catchy, LOUD and attitude-driven songs. We owe them for thrash.

If it weren't for the title track off the 1980 raging beast that is Ace of Spades, "The Game," and "Rock Out," then I wouldn't know a thing about legendary English rock band Motorhead, let alone Lemmy Kilmister. Even though the world lost him, the man's sleazy, in-your-face spirit will continue to live on. Ace of Spades, one of this group's most popular records, possessed a loud, abrasive, and quick sound that was revolutionary for its time. To this day, the full-length LP is looked at and remembered fondly for good reason. Its upfront nature and a serious lack of excess baggage shows that not displaying any ounce of subtlety can work perfectly fine. Godspeed, Kill Master... and godspeed to the rest of Motorhead. The riders ride into the night.

Never felt this bad after hearing about the death of a legend. I know Scott Weiland just passed away a few weeks ago but we all knew that was going to happen sooner or later. Lemmy though was 70 and still living like he was in his early 20s. May he be an inspiration to all of us who enjoy drinking like we don't need a liver. R.I.P hard man. You will definitely be missed. R.I.P Lemmy and R.I.P Motorhead. Hard rock and metal won't be the same without you.

Before Metallica, there was Motorhead. Motorhead are one of the main forerunners of Thrash metal, but like Lemmy says, it's all Rock N Roll in the end, and Ace of Spades is a prime example of fast and furious Rock N Roll indeed.
