Poor production quality doesn't really add any charm to this album, considering this album came out at one of the worst years for any other prog rock/metal group that was not named Opeth (Blackwater Park) or Tool (Lateralus). Where the instrumentations were good, especially the Movement tracks, the singing was not as good as I had believed. I hope the singer has a better vocal range in the future albums.

Well having heard all other dredg, I decided to finally check out this CD. Should've done that sooner, because this is my favorite and it reminds me of Coheed's first album. Fantastic stuff.

K this doesn't have a lapse in quality through the middle like El Cielo does, and the raw vocals and growing pains on this album separates it from El Cielo, albeit for a debatable result. In my opinion though, this is just as good and perhaps better. If the closers of the albums were swapped it wouldn't even be a contest.

A pretty ridiculous way to start a career, nothing else should really be expected from dredg. Leitmotif is a broad, yet accessible vision of the band's music at perhaps their truest form. Not to say this record is the band's best offering, but it's definitely a close contender.
