Abandoning his faithful Gibson guitar from those ol' Cream days, his projects with Steve Winwood (with whom he formed Blind Faith) and the Derek and The Dominos band, Eric enlists to make a name for himself. Armed with his new friend, the mighty Fender Stratocaster, a voice that hasn't been fully exploited, a backing band that includes Leon Russell and Rita Coolidge, Eric Clapton's eponymous debut album couldn't miss. The amalgam of genres used provide a unique sound, tracks like "Slunky", "After Midnight", "Blues Power" and "Let It Rain" cementing a well earned foundation for what was to come.
