Havukruunu never disappoints, simple as that. An epic, true riff orcan.

Where a lot of modern metal (or most genres now...) bands continue to experiment and blend >5 genres into every project, Havukruunu take the traditional approach with a solid blend of pagan/viking metal that focuses in on songwriting to create memorable moments and riffs that get your blood pumping. The choruses are anthemic and the pace of the music gives you a steady trajectory forward without being overly aggressive or cluttered. The mission is clear and much of the album is driven by solid rhythm sections. Fun guitar solos, group vocal hooks, good drum cymbal work and steady bass also deserve a bit of a shoutout. The opener and 'Yonsynty' are great but 'Unissakavija' is one of the best tracks in this genre space ever written. Scratches that Moonsorrow itch without stepping on any toes. Sneakily one of the better metal acts out there over basically a decade now. Come play a show in Boston!
