lol two sub three staff ratings 12 hours from release? seems a touch personal. No ones claiming this is blood on the
tracks, seems like theres enough objective merits here to consider a higher score especially measured against his body
of work. Maybe Im missing something, definitely a long album

I love it idc
Tight AF production, great transitions, the ponderous
melodies and harmonies we've grown to known, made all
the more impressive by the runtime.
Maybe not as immediate as his previous two but clearly
in the same vein and his work has an uncanny tendency
to grow on me over a long time so I'll be sinking my
teeth into these 84 mins for a while.

A bloated album with a few great songs sprinkled in. Lacks the focus of his last two albums which culminates to a disppointing end to The Weeknd's discography.

Oh boy. Hurry Up Tomorrow is the end of not only a trilogy, but of Abel Tesfaye's Weeknd moniker. Ostensibly, this is the moment he's been building up to for his entire career. These stakes would otherwise go unnoticed if it were not for their constant battering throughout 22 (!!!) songs with nearly a feature-length runtime. rThe bombast isn't without some highlights -appearances from from Lana Del Rey and Playboi Carti really work, and Max Martin strikes gold on some hits like "Open Hearts"- but the pretense and spectacle make this all entirely too much. After Hours and Dawn FM were hardly subtle in their messaging, but they felt so focused and fun that they were easy to return to and were creatively a shot in the arm. Hurry Up Tomorrow is a confusing, bloated mess that seems every bit as born from development hell that was suspected.rSwing and a miss.

The Ballad of Big Nothing. Tremendous production (yeah, if you have OPN and Pharrell, I hope the production is good) that serves too many unmemorable songs that try once again to hit gold with the "classy moody 80s synthpop" trope without as much success as his previous two records. Good thing there's that impeccable sound design and atmospheric charm of the 80s influences because Hurry Up Tomorrow can't seem to attain the same emotional and musical peaks as After Hours.

Depressing, crushing slog. Abel puts it to the fire again and proves that it doesn't work anymore, it just hurts. This album made me fucking sad, man. One of his best, on par with After Hours and Dawn FM
