| 0.0 | DeathByAstonishment | August 21st 12 | Even if I hate an album, I'll usually sit through it all at least once, after all, terrible art is still art right? I thought so until I heard the ironically named Quantum Catastrophe. If you've heard ten seconds of this album, you've heard it all. I got about half-way through this until I got antsy turned it off. Its a frustrating listen, the music whirling at hundreds of beats per minute, but stuck on a treadmill. Brain Drill are apparently unaware there's more to musicianship than how many notes you can fit into a microsecond.

| 3.5 great | Santa Koopa | March 14th 23 | they mellowed out into typical deathy tech but going on for 10 mins straight is quite admirable

| 2.0 poor | Jared Floryan | March 27th 15 | Quantum Catastrophe: The Young Person's Guide to Improper Technical Death Metal ended up being a shockingly thorough, informative, and all-around likable read. In a nutshell, the book told me about how bands such as Brain Drill shouldn't rely on shamelessly copying Arsis, Necrophagist, or Cryptopsy just to get anywhere near success. It also mentioned that sacrificing cohesive melodies, heart, and a little innovation on the side in order to obtain over-the-top guitar wankery alongside speed usually makes for either tedious listening, abysmal productivity, or both.

| 2.0 poor | pornogrindtheater | July 18th 11 | Take a bunch of instruments, and throw them in a blender. Now mash those suckers up into an un-discernible mush, while recording the sound that results. Go ahead, I'll wait. rRight, you're back. Congratulations, you have just created your own home-made Brain Drill album, without any 10 dollar purchase price! (Note: Homemade replication of any other questionable substances may result in police interference in your hidden laboratory.)
