In Da Club is a certified smash. Patiently Waiting is explosive. P.I.M.P. is still ridiculous fun. Many Men (Wish Death) is the greatest thing he has ever put his name to in his entire career. Sure, 50 may as well be serving out a life sentence in Hell now; but when this dropped the motherfucker was practically untouchable. 3.5 - 4 rating for its time, but for now it's just a good record. Quite good.

Shocking to see how disliked this is on Sputnik. Album means a lot to me circa elementary grade school slightly molding my adolescent mind. Looking back, this album pioneered early 00s hip-hop attacking the mainstream airwaves with its pop charm, but with a closer look, 50 Cent displays enough edge to maintain his pseudo gangster rap roots. Before music turned into a game of releasing the best single for a season, this record hits hard with solid musicianship from practically beginning to end. Get Rich or Die Tryin' single-handedly created the path for 50 Cent to become the entrepreneur he is today and a big name in early 00s history.

From the Intro all the way to Gotta Make It To Heaven i was satisfy as a youth & still today im satisfy & impressed. The bonus track on the album was hot 2. This album from start to finish is great. Classic in my books.

Why should you care if 50's name is stamped to this? Does that automatically make it garbage? Okay, sure it's got some samey sounding songs and 50 sounds like a sloth on just about every track but he makes his songs fun, whether telling stories of drug deals and hustles or boasting about how much sex he gets and how much weed he smokes. This is confidence and swagger displayed head on before the term "swag" even got big. 50 started the formula every rapper uses now but much better. Also, much of his success was on account of Dre's beats, which are usually funky club stompers or epic, cinematic productions. I'l be damned if this isn't near perfect.

Dr. Dre was a true chemist. He cooked up some hot shit for 50 Cent to rap over on Get Rich or Die Tryin', and 50 wasn't no slouch neither. 50 Cent is a rapper that is a lot of style, some skill, and because he wasn't too busy with rap until the mid 90s, it feels like he's still learning the job lyrically. But his flow, an aggressively thick growl, jells perfectly over whatever Dre gives him. It's perfect. Shame this perfect chem wouldn't work later on.
