I'm surprised I'm giving this a rating this low, considering all the other albums I've heard by
this artist (three) have been strong 4s. I've been listening to a lot of field recordings lately,
and I dunno, this just seems a bit pedestrian. That adjective feels fitting given its other
association. Like, what do you expect to hear in an urban field recording? Well, here it is, as
boilerplate as a definition. And the simple musical backdrops are pleasant, but they don't do
much, if anything, to elevate the field recordings. They kinda just complete the pedestrian
picture. It exists, but unexcitingly.
