Defeated Sanity may very well make some of the most BRUTAL music on the planet, but for those who actually like music with a point, this is nothing more than a mindless listen, in one ear out the other. Frivolous intro? Check. Awful mix (drums too loud, guitars too quiet)? Check. Lame torture/screaming samples? Check. SICK SLAMS? Check. Chapters is basically a finely tuned brutal death metal album with a niche audience, most will love it or hate it.

Filthy brutal death. It's got everything you'd need within the genre: violent but technical performances (that drumming), cavernous growls, and relentlessness. Peepee wasn't hard after tho.

Sure, the album is brutal as all hell, and twchnically stellar, but the former especially is also its downfall. Boring as hell, just constant slammy riffs and occasional technical stuff. The neoclassical hints of rthe debut sre completely gone, and much of the technical riffage has been replaced by slammy «brutality». Eh.
