Some of the best mid-career Dilla beats. T3 and Baatin throw down sexy rhymes about women and feeling good. reminiscent of latter tribe called quest since Dilla was one part of The Ummah, which produced post-midnight marauders tribe. Dilla, the best lyricist, jumps in once in a while to spit about his home, Detroit, weed and sexy women. I prefer this over vol.2 because theres no silky beats yet and the whole album flows like a 5-star album should.

This album proves that you don't need strong lyricism to make an enjoyable Hip Hop album. Although it's a little too experimental for my taste at times, the production and overall feel on this album is enough for me to go back and listen repeatedly.
