Once Sick of it All righted the ship a bit with 2006's Death to Tyrants, it seemed like the potential was there for the next logical step--- an album that could match their magnum opus, Just Look Around. Lead single "Death or Jail," one of many highlights on the hardcore punkers' newest effort, was a positive indication, one of a few songs here that recall that vintage 1992 form. "A Month of Sundays" isn't the strongest track on the record musically, but the fresh, nostalgic enthusiasm in Lou Koller's voice as he recalls the days of his youth is contagious, and enthusiasts will enjoy live staple "Braveheart" finally put to record. Based on a True Story isn't good enough to be crowned Sick of it All's best album, but it's good enough to make listeners stop wishing for Just Look Around II and just listen to Koller and company rock their middle-aged socks off. Really, what else could you want?
