Their most easy to listen album so far. The songs have pretty decent variety compared to the older stuff. Surely a step in the right direction.

I just feel like 40 Watt Sun (for me at least) have lost a lot of that emotional weight that
made them so emotive. Patrick will always bring tears to your eyes but the songs themselves
just don't really hit me anymore. Same with 50% of the last record.

it's fine i guess? i think i'd like it more if it was totally separated from his other work because his other albums seem like they have a lot more development, subtlety and structure in them where this seems more impulsive. 'half a world away' and 'the undivided truth' are very nice.
