This is nowhere near as offensive as people are making it out to be. For one, Emily's statement regarding Scientology was the most understandable and apologetic I've seen from anyone on anything. Secondly, you're all forgetting that LP were never the pinnacle of musical progression...only their first two records break a 3.5 average. Y'all are mad purely because your nostalgia was jimmied. rThere are a lot of catchy and fun songs on here, as well as a couple suckers. It's a perfectly serviceable album especially considering the circumstances that birthed it. The definition of a 3.0 record.

This album feels like AI-generated radio rock that provides faint glimpses of Linkin Park influence. The songwriting, the lyrics, the production; everything feels so flat and lifeless. This probably would've better served as an EP with the four or five strongest songs and nothing else, but I'm not sure that I could confidently pick out four or five "strong" songs from this tracklist.

still growing on me with every listen, its a really great album. a return to form of some kind, incorporating all kinds of styles that the band tried over their 20+ year career. i appreciate how compact the runtime is, invites for lots of rejams. emily slots right in with their sound and imo honors chesters legacy well.

If someone told me last year "Linkin Park is gonna release a new album next year with a new lead
singer", I could have guaranteed you it's reception would be around a 2.5 here and middling-to bad
from other internet reviews (unless it's offensively bad like One More Light, but it's not).
Didn't think there'd be a scientology controversy but whatever.
In reality, it's a good reintroduction with a solid mix of styles from their past albums (besides,
OML thankfully). It's obviously not Hybrid Theory or Meteora levels of good/groundbreaking, but
it's solidly Hunting Party-level. And most importantly, they sound like Linkin Park.

A lot of this album is marred by obvious growing pains from the reformed Linkin Park. Some songs are stellar (All four singles and IGYEIH), but a lot of them are just iffy. It's a shame, means the band'll have a serious uphill climb for album 9

"From Zero" is continuing a growing trend that artists are starting to weave within their albums nowadays, which I'll dub the 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens', of albums. There's a plethora of 'REMEMBER THIS?!' throughout the album, such as in tracks like 'Two Faced', 'Heavy is the Crown', and 'Casualty' - songs that can reacquaint the listener with familiarity and earn an easy trust with the audience. It's a very safe route, with the overall consensus being that this is good...for now. Their next LP will be the true testing point to see where their songwriting can go - if it's anything like evidenced 'Cut the Bridge' or 'Over Each Other', there's admittedly some hope

Wow, this is surprisingly bad. I gave them a fair chance and they blundered it big time.
There is just so much to hate here - rehashed, recycled B-Sides of old Linkin Park songs
wherever you look; weak screams; lukewarm raps; samey and technically poor riffing; no real
standout moments...listen to any Dead Sara album (her last band) and you will find better
songwriting. The only redeeming factors are some of the singles, as well as the standout
track of the record named IGYEIH which is short for I Give You Everything I Have. Overall a
very lackluster effort that definitely feels rushed, which is completely odd because they
had eight f***ing years of time after Chester's death. My goodness. How could you drop the
ball that hard, really? Barely itching a 3, more like a 2 or 2.5, honestly. I'm gutted over
here. I thought bringing in a female fronter aka a fresh voice would be a good idea.
Apparently I was wrong.

60% fun nostalgiabait romp, 40% One More Light expansion pack. Granted, the expansion rectifies
certain flaws of its predecessor. Overall too short, needed 4 more tracks of nostalgiabait, but
it's a fine album regardless. Only genuine criticism I can levy against it is Mike's vocal takes
on Casualty could've done with more time in the oven, and there's some high pitch earrape mixing
error on the drums in Stained. Again, really hoping there's a deluxe edition or another EP coming
in like 3 months because there just isn't enough material here.
