Stripped musically to its barest essentials, yet attempting a lot of ambitious, engrossing musical feats, at least vocally. My Brightest Diamond also has a great sense of humour all over this thing. Like on the song "Rule Breaker" describing all the types of people your should not involve yourself romantically (practically all the people), yet implying with the title that involvement is unavoidable. Clever and fun stuff all around, albeit its nakedness in arrangement does not do the vocals justice sometimes. They just feel like they need a much grander backing track to fully explode.
