Gqom (apparently pronounced as "gome") is a raw, cold, and minimalistic subgenre of South African house. This compilation features some tracks that proved to become pillars in modern African music, with for example "Syagwaba" by DJ Mabheko being later reprised in Keleketla's "Future Toyi Toyi". Gotta say all tracks manage to overstay their welcome, and the overall length (70+ mins) doesn't help in that regard.
