Origami Angel attempt to mature but they're not
shaking the arrested development allegations anytime
soon...still some rippers, it's all just starting to
feel a bit flat.

Origami Angel is the poster child of Ryland Heagy and Pat Doherty in which they bring to life the fast passed and fun nature of emo-pop from the heavy perspective of easycore. Much of the duos catalog is based in having extremely catchy tracks with some infectious choruses that will have you humming for days. These ideas are continued on the groups third album ?Feeling Not Found? which is more of the same (with a heavier leaning into power pop than previous records). ?Feeling Not Found? is a fun and expansive listening experience that does have a hard time standing toe to toe with previous releases in the bands catalogue. The album feels a lot more heavy than what they have done in the past and they want this record to resonate with a larger audience. Much of the blistering easycore is dropped for a much tamer pop punk style. Which is perfectly fine, I just wish it had a more cohesive sound.

Again, I feel like these guys' mixture of emo pop punk with easycore breakdowns (mathy linings are now gone) is cool, but their music is too maximalist to simply be "cool". It should bang!
