The Mystery Lights have studied vigorously the original garage rock vibe of the 60s. ?hrough Purgatory, they transfer with kaleidoscopic soundscapes and lo-fi sensibility, the essence of the?60s alternative rock. Their style is not niche but their music appeals to a specific audience. There is an abundance of fuzz and reverb and both of these support a solid rhythm and blues section in the album's 37 psychedelic minutes. Tony recommends: "Memories", "In the Streets", "Mighty Fine & All Mine".
