Envy mostly goes for a post-rockier approach on Eunoia, and while that's perfectly fine, the record's shortness makes that "post-rock & interludes" approach less impactful. Tracks like "Whiteout" or "Lingering Echoes" fortunately bring some welcome hardcore pounding. 2 Bumps \| Bump

Definitely nowhere near as memorable and exciting as the bands last full length album. The Japanese band definitely puts more emphasis on the post-rock spoken work passages that kind of made the last record so memorable. But here they come way too often and don?t add as much depth as it did last time. Another issue is how two-faced the listening experience is. It?s either rumbling screamo or melodic post-rock. Instead of the more ebb-and-flow nature of the last record this album feels much for cut and dry with these two approaches. Still this is a decent listen and the band still holds legendary status when it comes to mixing post-rock and screamo.
