| 5.0 classic | ShadowOfTheCitadel | June 30th 24 | AOTY contender over here. Just such a significant improvement over Origin in terms of production quality and composition. So many highlights too, from the Neurosis worship of Endocrine Disruptor, to Gordian Worm being a complete mindfuck, to Dr. Charlie Looker from Extra Life doing the lead vox on Jawline, etc.

| 3.5 great | cjbizzlebizzle | November 9th 24 | Wastes no time transporting you to a dark, depressing and seemingly apocalyptic soundscape. Definitely best enjoyed in full and as an active listen rather than something to just use as a backdrop to life. 'Endocrine Disrupter' is masterful and really establishes the cinematic, bleak atmosphere that will persist throughout most of Impossible Light. Things are a bit up and down after this but the album peaks again in a beautiful closing track which offers some light at the end of a very dark tunnel.

| 3.5 great | Erwann S. EMERITUS | October 22nd 24 | Compared to how harsh 2019's The Origin of My Depression was, Impossible Light is weirdly approachable. There still are traces of harsh noise, but these mostly leave the spotlight for dark ambient-tinged death industrial, with the occasional darkwave passage. It all comes together on that superb closer, which conjures everything that makes the soundscape to rise together in a way that's so powerful it makes the rest of the album pale.

| 3.5 great | LeakingFountain11 | July 6th 24 | I'm surprised Uboa would make something this accessible. It's less harsh than her previous albums, and industrial rock tracks with pounding drums are energetic and even fun while keeping a sense of isolation and oppressiveness. It is not quite the direction I'm expecting from her but it's a very cool transition of her sounds nonetheless.

| 4.5 superb | ajcollins15 | July 2nd 24 | One does not simply enjoy an Uboa releases since they generally are incredibly challenging listens, with the newest album ?Impossible Light? being no exception. ?Impossible Light? is the expression of pure rage in a listen, with harsh noise cutting through these triumphant and grand dark ambient drones. Everything feels and sounds so beyond pissed off, it?s hard to imagine what kind of emotional trauma Uboa was going through to create the album. However, I am beyond blessed to be able to experience one of the most incredible death industrial albums to ever be created.
