Songs of Blood and Mire further proves that Spectral Wound offers more riffs per minute than most modern black metal bands.

Black metal AOTY 2024. Just about every black metal album in recent times comes with some sort of frills or added element to blend in but after listening to 'Songs of Blood and Mire', you are left saying damn that is some really great black metal. Regardless of how traditional it is, the record delivers enough memorable riffs for two albums, production that brings you into the haunting music and vocals that put chills up your spine. Some very solid guitar melodies to make things interesting and great percussion to provide relief and variety instead of just overwhelming the listener. 'Aristocratic Suicidal Black Metal' is phenomenal.
