| 4.0 excellent | cjbizzlebizzle | November 9th 24 | Am I the only one who still cares about mixtapes? KOTMS II exudes mixtape energy and hits hard from end to end with very few missteps. Name a style of southern rap/hip-hop and you will probably find some elements of it here. 'ULTRA SHXT' through 'SKED' might be the best stretch of hip-hop in 2024 with bonafide bangers in 'HOT ONE', 'BLACK FLAG FREESTYLE' and 'G'Z UP'. In true mixtape fashion, the guest verses bring the heat with Maxo Kream, TiaCorine, A$AP Ferg, That Mexican OT, Mike Dimes and many others shining on this record. The only minor misstep for me here is 'COLE PIMP' as a concept and honestly Juicy J is just dated at this stage, despite being a legend in southern rap. Denzel Curry is the gift that just keeps on giving.

| 3.7 great | Erwann S. EMERITUS | August 25th 24 | Curry goes for a decidedly southern approach on the follow-up to the soulful Melt, and while he further proves he can rap as well as anybody in the industry, the tape approach and overall lackluster guest performances (except for Ty Dolla $ign, A$AP Ferg, and Armani White) hinder King's position within Curry's discography.

| 3.0 good | ajcollins15 | July 24th 24 | This is the first album in a long time that I have not been enamored with by Denzel Curry. In many ways, he could go down as one of the most consistent rapper of the modern rap era. Every release since 2016s ?Imperial? has been a truly breathtaking piece of art. On Denzel?s most recent album ?King of the Mischievous South Vol. 2? we see Denzel bring in various rappers from the southern hip hop scene, making for a really solid listen if you love southern hip hop. I personally am not a huge fan of it, especially for how long this album is. But with that said, Denzel does add a lot to this album and many of the features really add a nice depth to the listening experience. Just not something I will be coming back to from Denzel.

| 4.0 excellent | iGuter | July 24th 24 | Consistently excellent, there is never a moment that gets dull here with every beat and flow that?s fun and hits hard. It is just as simple at how well a rapper like Denzel Curry can make something that is not really as complex as his other releases, but does give a lot of reverence to the sounds that inspired him to where he is today.

| 4.0 excellent | lz41 | July 23rd 24 | Dripping with charisma. I love the not-overstated use of backing choirs in the brilliant midsection. This is my favourite Denzel album for sure.
